Portrait proceedure

 

1.We discuss what you want, such as size, body position, clothing, background etc.

 

2. I will take photos of the subject, and do a small sketch from life if desired.

    Photos are shown to the client for approval.

 

3. I will do a pencil sketch or charcoal study to size and get approval.

 

4. I proceed with the final painting.

 

 

Sizes

 

Head and Shoulders, approx.16 x 20 to 20 x 24

 

Half Length, with 1 or 2 hands, approx. 22 x 28

 

Three Quarters Length, with 2 hands, approx. 30 x 40

 

Full Length , approx. 30 x 48 and up

 

 

Mediums

 

Full color oil, monochrome in oil, charcoal, and graphite.
